“Architects of Change” contrasts the highly human-ordered working environment with smoother, naturally-formed surroundings, encouraging viewers to consider what our systems of work and organization might look like outside of their intended surroundings. Things that might seem of importance and value in a work setting seem completely nonsensical here, out in nature.

“Collectivist” is a mockup hero webpage showcasing a set of high-tech styled earbuds. The brand, product, and page layout are all original work, with the branding and layout produced in Adobe Illustrator and the product itself designed and rendered in Blender.

“Grey Mornings” captures the feeling of starting an overcast day in a sleepy city apartment, emulating slice-of-life photography. All portions of this image were textured procedurally, and the fabrics were produced via physics simulation.

This second installment in the world of the NSRC is my portion of North Central College's 2026 Senior Art and Design Exhibition, Art-ish. It consists of five laser cut stainless steel signs and an operational manual for the organization that details their internal structure and functioning. You can learn more about the NSRC and From Fields Afar at nostreco.org!
The below designs are the ones that were used to produce the steel signs. Each represents a specific type of hazard that one might experience while in the presence of one of the NSRC's structures. Further details on what those hazards entail can be found in Addendum A of the Operational Manual, and will also be able to be found at nostreco.org soon!

Hi! I'm Will.
I'm a digital artist and designer currently based in Plainfield, Illinois (about an hour from Chicago). I work in a variety of digital media, but find myself most interested in digital 3D, and what kinds of work you can produce there that you couldn't produce in any other media. I'm currently working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from North Central College, and have been accepted into the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Media Design program at the University of Connecticut. When not developing his design skills, I enjoy reading, producing art in a variety of media, and playing all kinds of games.
About My Practice
My current artistic practice has developed from my interests in worldbuilding, structured escapism, and procedural development. I have found it incredibly rewarding to be able to create worlds that people can immerse themselves in, and believe that such immersion has real value for our lives. Using procedural development as one of the core means to achieve this has been especially interesting to me as it allows me to work in measured and mathematical ways, as well as allowing both rapid production and expression of forms that can range from very familiar to nearly unknowable with ease. For example, the image on the right is a work I produced called STR-M-0001 "CRONUS," and represents a 3D fractal known as the Mandelbulb. This form is both incredibly unique and abstract, and represents a hybridization of mathematics and artistic expression that I'm interested in working within.
